It’s the most wonderful time of the year – well, almost! Some of us eagerly await Christmas and others can’t wait for the spookiest holiday – Halloween. By the time the holiday rolls around, sometimes we get too busy to put together a costume! 1. Life Lemons

“When life gives you lemons…” we’ve all heard this phrase and while it might cause some to roll their eyes, it will definitely get some laughs wherever you go. All you need is a yellow shirt, a sharpie and a bag of lemons (plastic or real). Spend your night walking around to your friends giving out lemons – you can even use your sharpie to write different things on the lemons. Depending on your sense of humor, this can get dirty pretty fast!

3. Jake From State Farm

The State Farm commercial that made a cultural splash is probably the easiest costume to create. Do you have a red polo, khakis and a nametag? Then you’ve got this! Bonus if you can find a cheap headset to wear around. Just write “State Farm” at the top of the name tag and “Jake” at the bottom. You’ll be a big hit.

We’re going to focus on the classic Bra Cutting scene in which the breasts of Regina George’s white tank top are cut as a prank, exposing her purple bra and the next day all of the girls at school are following the “trend.”

All you need for this look is a white tank top, a purple bra, and a black skirt. Rock that wardrobe malfunction with confidence!

5. Pig In A Blanket

Back at it with the puns! Got a blanket? Got a fake pig snout from the dollar store? Then you’re set. Depending on how much time and effort you want to put into these DIY Halloween Costumes you can add floppy pig ears and hoofs. Either way, this is an easy last-minute costume for all ages!

6. Nickelback

You know that band notorious for being the “worst band ever”? The one that supposedly people hate, yet are always on the radio? Yeah, that band. You can be the most hated band, too. Hot glue some nickels to the back of your shirt and voila! We have a low-cost, low-effort Nickelback!

7. Cactus Pipe Cleaners

Feeling a little prickly? Well, let the world know. All you need is a green sweater, some yellow or white pipe cleaners. Use hot glue or just poke them through the sweater to create the look of spikes. Add a little flower to your hair and strike a pose! You’ve got a cheap cactus costume that can be used and reused.

8. Spice Rack

We love this costume! If you have a large bra lying around or can borrow one from someone you know, take it and add kitchen spices into it. You are now a walking, talking spice rack. Pretty straightforward.

9. 50 Shades of Grey

Possibly the least expensive costume of the bunch, this punny DIY Halloween Costume involves going to a hardware store, grabbing a few color swatches in grey and affixing them to a shirt. Either with glue or with tape, you can make this costume as high maintenance or low maintenance as you want!

10. The Sims Plumbob

This is one of our favorite DIY Halloween Costumes! Are you a real millennial if you never played The Sims? Probably not. If you didn’t spend countless hours customizing and then later sadistically killing your sims, did you even have a childhood? Either way, this is one of the easiest costumes on this list! All you need is construction paper and a headband!

11. Identity Thief

Do you have a bunch of those “Hi, my name is…” name tags lying around? Well, you can make the best costume ever out of those! Write a bunch of different names on them and stick them all over your clothes. Bonus if you are going to a party, you can write the names of all your friends.

Upgrade your costume by ordering name tag buttons! Now you have a permanent reminder of your cleverness.

12. Copycat

For this Cheap DIY Halloween Costumes, all you need is a white shirt, a sharpie and some cat ears (tail also optional)! Write out “Copy” on the shirt and prance around as a punny little kitty. If you can’t find kitten ears around Halloween you probably aren’t looking hard enough!

13. Error 404 Costume Not Found   

Another great DIY Halloween Costumes that only requires a sharpie and a shirt! When you get redirected to a page online that shows you a blank white screen with the message 404 Page Not Found it lets you know that the website you’re trying to access has either been removed or there is some sort of issue with it. When you are either too busy or too lazy to create a costume for Halloween, this one is perfect.

14. Blessing in Disguise

This one is pretty funny! Grab a shirt, a sharpie, and some Groucho Marx glasses. Write “Blessing” in giant letters on the front of your shirt and don your disguise! If they don’t get it, they don’t deserve to be in your presence. Be as obnoxious as possible.

15. God’s Gift To The World

The best present is your presence at the Halloween party! Grab an oversized gift bag and some ribbon and cut some leg holes in the bottom! Write on the tag “From: God, To: The World” Stuff some tissue paper in it and arrive at the party as the ultimate gift!
